Default Re: How to rise the torque of an Auto N16 Sentra ... ??

Argh !! A "reliable" guy told me its my Sflow muffler causes that problem ... He said the Sflow creates not enough back pressure to push my car at low range ... So he suggest me to use back the original Nissan Muffler to get back some lost back pressure which can helps to silent my car as well as regain some lost pickup ...

How u guys think about that ... ? It sounds logical to me as i know auto trans car need sufficient back pressure to generate some pickup ... Unlike manual trans which the lower the back pressure the better it would be ... Correct me if i am wrg :)

as far as i know S flow is ngam ngam for auto tranny cozs it will create some back pressure too.
but u must use drop in air filter and dont use open pod or else u will suffer low end torque. auto tranny is a bit gila one. too much air go into engine will be bad low end torque. so have to be a bit restritive on the air intake and exhaust.

i think u can hantam in 1 mid muffler and keep the rear s flow.
by the way i using 1 bullet to replace my mid muffler and 1 s flow to replace my rear muffler. air intake i use drop in. power wise sedap from 1-6k rpm. i driving auto tranny sentra. and i got a VS.

1.75" diameter saves ur fuel. gives u more backpressure.
ur engine is wat? want to put straight pipe?

VS is not V8. haha................
VS=voltage stabiliser. it helps in my car. get pivot VS good.
tohsan, maybe u can try VS. easy to install. just hook + to + at battery and - to - at battery.
from my experience i see my headlamp is brighter a bit. air cond cooler a bit, easy rev, speaker sound louder a bit.

it is a misconception on backpressure, back pressure is always bad! it is the piping diameter thats count, torque comes earlier due to smaller diameter extractor pipe, because smaller diameter means max volume of air pass thru at max speed comes earlier, smaller pipe fill up faster than bigger pipe.

if u wan more pickup, get shorter primary pipe length extractor, bigger doesnt mean better, cause bigger pipe need higher rpm to produce tat much air flow to occupy the pipe thus lost of power! its not back pressure! back pressure is bad for engine power, whether its auto or manual! its the pipe diameter n extractor design tats matters

Which shop is good for nissan sentra modification? I've been reading this thread...good info as my sentra 1.8 also very poor in pickup :\ especially in the 40-60kph...if you from idle accelerate not too bad but then when you wanna overtake at about 40 going to 60...damn it's like lagging! As for top speed...only 180kph. Disappointing though I understand we seldom go that high but it's what we paid for ler..
Anyways am interested in acceleration rather than top speed at the moment.

Bro ... Replace ur current header from 4-1 with cat to a aftermarket 4-2-1, by this extractor alone u can gain sufficient pickup and midend ... I did it so i know it ... If you wan spend about 400 bucks to 500 bucks to upgrade ur piping size from 1.5 inch (outer diameter) to 1.6 inch (outer diameter) ... That should give a more better midend and a little bit lowend ... I did it so i know it ... I recommend u to do this upgrades after u done ur air intake, at least change ur current paper type air filter to a K&N drop in, it helps a bit for pickup and midend ... Hope this helps ...

As shop recommendation ... For exhaust , go to SS2 Lai Exhaust , SpeedWorks at PJ, Jafaar Exhaust at Sunway ... Otherwise look for your fren who has work on this ...

Hey man ... Yeah lo that fellar said its 1.75" inlet ... So its 2 inch outlet ... DAMN !! No wonder i felt so heavy ... Anyway i already get rid of that problem ... Running on 1.6" size now ... I love the pickup and midend power ... Happy Driving my n16 everyday

Oh yeah guys ... To avoid having an oversize piping in your car exhaust system ... Please monitor and choose the pipes yourself rather than having the exhaust guy choose for you ... They would do anything just to get some buck ... SHIT ... This happened to me ... I lost total of 500 bucks for the whole set of 2 inch piping !!

If any exhaust that works better than the ori exhaust (in terms of low-mid rpm performance or even 0-100km/h), in a ori car engine, ori auto gear box, without any other parts involved (adding mushroom allowed), I donate RM200 worth of rice/milo/biscuits for charity on behalf of ZTH name

*only for normal piston car on the street. Rotary excluded.
