Default Nissan to Unveil Juke Nismo at Le Mans

Though looking pretty unique especially with the love-it-or-hate-it unique front end, the Nissan Juke had really gained the attention of a lot of potential customers that it had spawned into a number of versions in the market today. The first one is for those who are willing to spend big bucks for the Godzilla-ized version of the Juke, the 523-horsepower, VR38DETT-engined Juke-R.

And now, a new version is about to be launched on this upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans this 16-17 June. Making a debut on the ever-challenging endurance race is the refined version of the Juke, the Nissan Juke Nismo. Of course, do not expect this one to match the R’s performance line as it will still house the same 1.6-litre turbocharged engine as the normal Juke, with of course some tuning by the Nissan specialist in order to squeeze out with a higher figure, which had yet to be stated.

Other improvements on the Nismo version also include a stiffer suspension, revised steering geometry and performance-tuned traction control with torque vectoring. A Nismo package would not also be complete without a revised kit, so this one comes with a more aggressive aero package with new front and rear bumpers, wider wheel arches, side skirts, a tailgate spoiler and a new grille. Flared fenders were necessary to fit in the wider, lower-profile 18-inch alloy wheels, with the interior also receiving some sportier makeover like the suede-covered, red-stitched Nismo bucket seats.

The Juke Nismo’s release date for both Japan and United States market is yet to be known, but it will be available in Europe by the beginning of next year, with the pricing and full performance figures expected to be out somewhere earlier than the undisclosed release dates.
