from what i know and heard, ver 1-6 GC8/GF8 can use ver 7 GD/GG Bugeye WRX & STI front shocks and springs, but using the rear shocks and springs would mean the rear will be higher and camber positive, so some modifications needed for the rear.

Same with ver 8 GDAC/GGAC WRX only i think.

ver 8 WRX GDAD/GGAD onwards i'm not sure, but i think maybe also cannot.

But ver 8 STI (GDBC onwards) is different because their are inverted struts and knuckles are different and not compatible anymore unless extensive modifications are made.

as you can see, the Impreza goes thru a gradual evolution. but looking at the performance in the WRC, they now need a revolution, just like mitsubishi...
