dear all,

if we apply Streamyx recently, we will get a ZTE modem instead of Aztech 900 Turbo.

My question is, is this Blue colour ZTE modem a modem or a router?

what I am trying to do is , I have a DLink 714P+ ADSL router, so I wanna plug in this ZTE modem into this 714P router.
But if I connect the WAN port on the 714P+ with this ZTE modem, I can't even ping the IP of the modem!!
I tried using normal cable and crossover cable, both also cannot ping

So I plug in this ZTE modem to normal CAT5 UTP port (not the WAN port) using normal CAT5 cable, it works fine and I am able to ping this modem.

May I know how to make this blue modem with with a ADSL broadband router?

Thank you in advance & best regards

for dlink to connect to the modem, i think u need to use a stright wiyer then the twisted pair.
also, depends wat setting u set in the dlink, if u want it to auto dial then u might need to configure a ip for ur wan as well as the modem lan port.
then u need to get a software to configure the modem.
