Hi,

I am currently surveying tyre for my pity Kelisa after recovered from Stolen incident.

New Rim is Perodua Stock 14" Rim.

After i have survey some of the tyre shop around Wangsa Maju, I found there are not much choices for Kelisa:

1) Silverstone (stock tyre from Perodua with RM135)
2) Falken 72V - (RM145)
3) Continental CC5 (RM165) - some shopper said this tyre side easily got crack... is this true?
4) Bridgestone tyre - Cant found any
5) Michelin tyre - cant found any around here too

Any experienced user got any opinion for kelisa's tyre?

I am looking for comfort and quiet tyre even during high speed (100km/h only ^^ ).

I will buy the tyre tomoro morning will gone through the survey today ^^

Thanks for the help 1st..

you can consider korean brand Hankook if you unable to find michelin pp2 (which is the most quite tyre i used for my kelisa so far, but no longer able to get it.) As for bridgestone, you can get RE030 but this tyre is noisy (actually both michelin and bridgestone on my car, front bridgestone and behide michelin).

Try Hankook V8, stay away from silverstone and sime tyre which is crab.

Thanks v1ctorong,

Is it u mean that Michelin PP2 is your first choice , 2nd choice would be Hankook?

Do u know the estimate lifetime for Hankook tyre?

Will check it out tomoro.

Michelin PP2 already discon, unless you can get some old stock, but don't get too old as tyres have lifespan also. Kelisa size of 165/55R14 nowadays do not have good performance tyres. If can find Hankook V8RS they are not bad. However being directional pattern tyres, if the wear in uneven they may get noisy at the later stages.

This morning the Hankook shop open so late~ so i bought Falken tyre.

No 1) Michelin
No 2) Yokohama / Hankook
No 3) Falken

Do u agree?

Yes, V8RS is directional patterned....

As for quiet, it is the model not the brand.
For eg., Michelin quiet tyres is supposed to be the Primacy LC, Yoko the Advan dB V551

As for your size, probably Michelin XM2, Yoko A-Drive or if can find C-Drive 2.

For the Falken what model did you fit? Hope it is the Falken ZE-912, as the ZE-522 and ZE-322 are not too good.

Do u have any idea what's the price like for Yoko A-Drive or C-Drive 2 for kelisa size? Appreciate it if u could point to the right shop too! :P

Actually ZE-522 is not too bad but 912 is better but hard to find. If you bought the 522, don't worry too much about it. They are still decent compared to silverstone or sime. I've had no experience with 322 though.

How much is the 912 these days anyway?

Cheers

hey leo.. how are ya?

I think the only goodyear tyre which is available in 165/55R14 is the Duraplus since Ducaro has been discont'd. Is Duraplus good? I tried a couple of cars with them. Felt floaty and unstable at 100kmh above.

i dunno if its available for 14inch, but d directional 5 is good for all weather. plus, floaty feels may be due to wrong tyre pressure, goodyear's tyres are known to have soft tyre walls, can be easily be rectified by adding more pressure imo. iam using assurance 195/60/15, doesnt feel floaty at all at once i feel 310kPa into them

Sorry, do not know the prices of 165/55R14 tyres. The 522 if compared to the 2 tyres of course can consider decent, but since changing tyres already, might as well get better ones....

Duraplus are just mileage tyres. Assurance are a little better of course.
I don't think the F1D5 comes in Kelisa size, and they are in the UHP category, and of course the stability and handling is different.....

I bought the falken ZE-322. I dont really there is other choices for Falken with same size since there is only no other choice for me. T.T

Looks like most of the shop will only ready with all the basic cheap tyre only.

Will be smarter next time.

Btw.. how much for the Yokohama A-drive nowadays?

Continental CC5 highly recommended by my colleague just now.. someone offer me RM165 each. consider cheap?

As mentioned nowadays for that size, mostly entry level tyres. CC5 is new with newer technology put in, so it is a bit better. Well, sometimes like your friend when he compare CC5 with his older tyres may be highly recommended but if you have tried other better traction tyres then it is different case already.
Since already change, use first and scout for tyres earlier on your next round, not until bald and need urgent change....
