How much pressure should i pump into this tyre ?

AT the moment i pump like 35psi for the front and 34psi for the rear ....

I see on my Polo with 215/40/R17 recommended pressure is 40Psi ... is it normal to run such high tyre pressure ?

Thanks for any replies .

How is the handling and ride with 35psi? If okay, just continue using.
40psi seems a bit on the high side, but the lower the aspect ratio (40 series) more air pressure is required to hold up the car.

I think 40psi is too much, considering yours is a very low profiled tyre 45 series

At this pressure, if you run into potholes, chances are your suspension, rims and tyre may not be able to take it...

So, a slightly soft feel should absorb any hard bumps that you may encounter...

I think 33-34 psi should be more than sufficient...

Actually for ultra low profile like 40 series more air pressure is required. As for going into potholes, with more air pressure actually helps to save the rims. The tyres do not get compress to hit the rims....

Bro. D7zul, The maximum pressure mentioned on the tyres is the maximum pressure allow to mount the tyres, means to pump up the tyre sidewall into the edge of the rims.
If unable to mount the tyres at the maximum pressure, then it has to be deflated and additional tyre mounting lube applied to ease the mounting....
It is not the maximum pressure for use.....by then will be very bumpy and hard already......
