Hello,

I want some information on a Toyota Celica, type T18, year of manufacture 1992, 1.6 L 16-valve engine, type 4A-FE engine. I want to know what type of oil is recommended to use (type, SAE). The car has run so far on oil Castrol Edge Sport 10W-60, but I feel like eating very much oil, I think that's why this oil is not indicated, this oil is quite thin.
The car have 180k miles, and i know that is normal to eat oil.
The car runs very well.
I don't have the user manual. Can someone tell me what it says in the manual? What oil is indicated?

bro, the car has aged over 20 years. wear and tear of seals and rings are bound to happened. thicker oil is recommended for your case.
to solve your problem, and it wont cost much on buying the motor oil.....try Mach 5 SM 15W-40, from Petronas.

Even if you have found the manual, the manual recommendation would not be suitable for your cars after 20 years of running.

i heard there will be new regulations with regard to engine conversions. is this true?

1. any engine replacement must maintained its capacity (or similar) without going any bigger. no matter 10% higher or 20%.

2. for proton and perodua cars which never produced turbocharged cars ... conversion to turbocharged engines wont be allowed any more.

hopefully sumone can confirm this...
