PENANG, 10th & 11th Dec 2011 - Zerotohundred.com and Shell is proud to announce the successful completion of Leg 2 of the Shell Helix Invasion Tour. The Leg 2 Invasion Tour to Penang is the culmination of two weeks of intense execution of the Shell Helix Invasion Tour 2011, beginning with Leg 1 to Johor Bahru via Malacca and Tanjung Kupang, and Leg 2 to Penang Island via Tapah R&R and Juru Autocity.

The Shell Helix Invasion Tour Leg 2 is an even bigger affair than Leg 1, comprising more than 50 supercars of different makes; Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, Aston Martins, Maserati’s, Porsche’s, Lotuses, and Nissan GT-R’s. Like Leg 1, Leg 2 has seen participation from the illustrious Blue Jackets Society, in addition to individual supercar owners in the drive up north towards Penang.

The Shell Helix Invasion Tour 2011 is a consumer education and awareness campaign by principal sponsors Shell, brought to you by the folks from Zerotohundred.com. The primary focus of the campaign is to promote the distinction of using the right lubricant for one’s engine, and the importance of engine maintenance and care.

The event proper started at daybreak at Proton’s Centre of Excellence, where the participants congregated and mingled before breakfast and the mandatory safety briefing. The flag-off for Leg 2 of the Shell Helix Invasion Tour was delayed until 0950 to accommodate the sheer amount of participation this time around. As usual, the police escorts gave the convoy a smooth drive all the way to the first stop; Tapah R&R.

From there, the convoy regrouped and whizzed down towards the Penang Inshore Fishermen Welfare Associtation (PIFWA) in Nibong Tebal. Naturally, the trunk and village roads came alive with the convoy’s entry, piquing local interest and widespread awe. There, the President of PIFWA introduced the importance of ecological conservation in protecting the welfare of fishermen in the northwest coasts. The visit to PIFWA concluded with mangrove shoot planting by the entourage.

The next stop for the convoy was at Juru Autocity, again assisted by the great guys from the Royal Malaysian Police. There the entourage had a late lunch, socialized and shared some of the more entertaining bits of the drive.

From Juru Autocity, the escorts took the convoy towards Batu Ferringhi via the coastal highway, past Georgetown city centre and north-westwards. Upon reaching Rasa Sayang Resort, the participants were allocated their respective rooms and informed about the gala dinner by the beach at Golden Sands Resort.

Leg 2 of the Shell Helix Invasion Tour 2011 came to completion with a party at Mansion 69; the participants chilling to electrifying club hits and bikini dancers.

It’s a pity, I always believed that the XC90 was a good looking car, and thought the T6 was a really powerful ride. I even thought that it was selling well and that it was a proper, cheaper alternative to Mercedes ML or BMW X5. As much as I, or maybe even you liked it, it’s sad to say that the XC90 may be no more.

Although due to be launched in the end of 2009, sources close to AMS Sweden stated that the decision was made a...
