We reported recently that Tony Fernandes has acquired British sportscar manufacturer Caterham. The Team Lotus principal did so by buying out Caterham’s previous owners, Corven Ventures, and was listed as a director of Caterham on 12 April. Nonetheless, Fernandes elected to keep Caterham’s current Managing Director, Ansar Ali, at the helm.

To celebrate the acquisition, Caterham will be launching a special run of just 50 examples of Team Lotus Sevens, 25 units for the UK and the other 25 for the other overseas markets. The package can also be added to any current variant of the Seven range that will give it the same green and yellow liveries of the Team Lotus Formula One machines. A special plaque in the cabin will distinguish the car from its brethren. Buyers will also receive a commemorative book and an invitation to tour the team’s factory in England.

Hit the video for the announcement of the acquisition and release of the special edition Sevens.

this news makes me wanna know more about Caterham...serious, I don't know a lot about it.

this I got from wikipedia and very intriguing fact indeed. .

"RS Performance RST-V8 Engine
The 'Caterham Levante', built in associate with Caterham's subsidiary, RS Performance Engine Developments Ltd. (RS=Russell Savory), is a mostly-carbon-fibre bodied Caterham, with Kevlar seats, combined with an "over 500bhp" 2.4-litre, 40-valve supercharged V8 and a reduced body weight of 520 kg (1,146 lb) boasts almost 1,000 bhp (746 kW; 1,014 PS) per tonne (initial announced specifications were 550 bhp (410 kW; 558 PS) and 530 kg (1,168 lb), but the RS website specifies "in excess of 500bhp," and 520 kg (1,146 lb) or 530 kg (1,168 lb); the math may or may not achieve "over 1,000 bhp (746 kW; 1,014 PS) per tonne"). The eight cars, costing £115,000, sold out. and only eight will be produced to celebrate more than 50 years in production. Two days' of mandatory "driver training" are included in the price of the car."

it is very light..handles well..and some of the model have lot of HP...
like the R500...can guess how much HP it have?

however it's lack of downforce makes it less effective in track like Sepang...Arial Atom, X-Bow, Radical, may fares better.

i love this car for its simplicity...and pure mechanical...
engine on wheel!!
