Hello,

I installed an SR-20 turbo (engine and gearbox) from S14 silvia on a jeep. The car is now running fine but still in the workshop because it needs some repair/adjustment on brake system and also some wiring. However, as the mechanic is not a "kaki modified" mechanic,especially on performance engine like SR20, I think after I get the jeep out, I will need to get it to a workshop that specialize in car modifying and has a mechanic that has experience with SR20 DET. This current mechanic is excellent, he has proper workshop and a few full time mechanic helpers but he is not a turbo man. Things that I notice that need to improve are;

1) engine bay (wall) at a couple of spots were cut out to give way to the intercooler piping but the holes were cut too small (just enough for the pipe to go though). I am sure the pipe will have contact with the wall when driving and the pipe can eventually get damaged. So I need this to be improved. maybe cut the holes bigger or provide some kind of protection to the pipe or....?

2) Need experience turbo mechanic to check the overall set up of pipes, see if they are properly connected (or can be improved), check if pipes and connectors size used is ideal or can still be improved. Confirm the location and installation of BOV is suitable.

3) Need to check if fuel and air flow are sufficient. Need to measure boost-currently boost meter is not installed because the guy said he was not sure how to install the boost meter. I also gave him a turbo timer but he don't know how to install it as well.

I think you guys know what I am trying to say here and what I am looking for.

If you know anyone that does this kind of things in KL area, pls let me know. I think I can do also Pandan Indah, cheras and any place not far from KL.

Thank you.

Hi damnthing,thanks, I kind of looking for workshop in KL for now. last resort then will consider going to Puchong.
The current workshop that takes care of my jip now has completed its scope of work and I can say the jip is driveable, and running okay. I really like this SR20 (bongkok version) :) I used to run RB20 with better turbo and equipped with AFC and SITC and tuned by the person who knows what he is doing. But I can easily say that I prefer sr20 (even in original set up). The mechanic there has done a good work except that he never had experience in turbo engine before and cannot make the engine works 100% as it should be. For example, we installed the boost meter but somehow we could not connect the hose correctly and the meter don't work. Also a few things might have been missing because the engine is not from a half cut where everything is there. Oh well... :)

how far are you from your house to sri kembangan (serdang raya area)?
There's one: Dworks. Good in FR engines, the owner also drives 180sx for events.
