Why not Putra? Coz I don't think there is enough parts to fulfill the 150 unit quota to begin with. Let alone 100. When PE "relaunched" the Putra sometime in June, it seems only ~70 units were available. So it's not a wise decision to start from a platform which won't have a substantial parts bin for warranty and spares.

Oh yea, crash, if i'm not mistaken, the relaunched Putra had Recaros. Can't remember which one coz I was more distracted by the lousy standed Wira (without SRS) steering they supplied. It just begs to be thrown away.

Well, there's always the Colt Plus Turbo, sold in S'pore for a S$12.5k premium over the standard Colt Plus. I think that car is just perfect for the responsible family man who can't get over the hot-hatch craze. With 180Nm available from 2500rpm and a CVT gearbox stolen from the Colt Plus, I believe that car can give the SR3 a run for its money on the straights.

What I'd like? The Golf GTI MK5 with the DSG box. Or maybe I've been watching too many Brit car shows :P

I have a sneaky feeling we've been watching the same show. I'd like the new Golf GTI as well. Very tasty car. But its still slower than the cheaper Civic Type R.

eleh.. come on guys. Straight line speed isn't everything. Well, to some, it may be as it can be nice to listen to the engine on song at hi-revs (esp. if got timing lift systems).
But overall driving dynamics, R3 is IMO, nice. Hard to upset. No need to wash off that much speed while layan-ing the corner at Penchala Link.. hahaha!
Dat was fun!

At RM77,888 and 150 units only, it's a steal (realtively speaking)! In the end, 'tis the way one drives and exploits the cars & elements.

Proton now has a partnership with VW right? I'm hoping we get some tasty cars from VW here for reasonable prices. Hopefully the Golf GTI included.

Off topic a little here. How much is the Civic type R?

Brand new EK9? But I don't think those can get easily anymore. Even if can, doubt it will be priced lower than a standard Civic 1.7.

Anyway, just a bit of trivia for those who just bought their 4G93P's. To save you some money for a stock dyno, here you go:

4G93 dyno with negligible mods

P.S. No wonder the car's acceleration feels a bit flat between 3300 to 3800rpm.

I'm talking about the EP3. RM160k++ strikes me as being a bit pricey for a hatchback. I mean how much is the DC5?

Can you still get the EK9 new, as in brand new???

Thats funny. Why would anyone buy the EP3 then if it was around the same price as a DC5?
