Request Assistance: Waja 4G18(A)

Hi guys,
Model: Waja 2004 4G18 (A).
I probably having a gearbox issue, based on info received from the mechanic.
Since the car not with me at the moment. I can’t really understand/check what’s really happened.
According to my sister, she unable to engage the gear (D or R) once awhile after stop at junction.

The mechanic quote me the new auto gearbox approximately RM6K without labour + additional fluids cost.
Its kinda too expensive for me, furthermore it just only for Waja 1.6A (4G18).
I do understand if the gearbox housing broken need to be replace etc, probably can be logical.
I believe replacing the internal parts much common and probably giving the same amount of lifetime with new unit.

Probably any of you could point me where is the gearbox specialize somewhere around Shah Alam area.
Preferably trusted and good workmanship.

Sorry but Im not able to pin point the issue with the given information. It might be a slippage or could be something else. I can recommend D Care Auto Garage. You can contact them directly and check with them first . 017-6209869. They are based at seksyen U5 Shah Alam.

dunno any trustef wprkshop arnd that area i ahree with you that rm6k is too expensive unless its really a new gb.
99.9% of the time workshop sell recond unit and these will cost less than rm2k for waja.

you can ask quote for servicing of valve body and replacement of solenoid.
that 2 component are subject to wear n tear of the part it self and the lube.

wah Rm6k? thats the price of a recond gbox for my E90.
waja supposed to be less than RM3k including workmanship + ATF.

Yup, easy way out but usually they take your GB in exchange for recon one. Some prefer their own GB especially when car is owned by them since new, so will prefer to repair.
