problem of subwoofer..HELP

why my subwoofer always stop for awhile...after a few min it work again..
i already change my amp..but it still same...
is it my woofer wire install wrong..?
i install my woofer like that>>>>>

thats called connecting in series. this way usually your amp wont run hot, but power will be less. if u already changed amp and still same, im not sure la whats the cause, underpowering the sub wont make it cut out. maybe too underpowered, what is your amp's rating at 8ohm?
