My A33 is overheat today while i stuck at traffic jam for half an hour time...
The fan seems like is working fine but wondering y overheating problem was happened...
After i let the car cool down for 1~2 hours, it works fine and the temperature is as per normal...
But this make me feel more worried because don't know when will it happen again...

So, I would like to seek for advise whether anything take i can highlight to mech to check for that?
Anyone have experience the same issue on the A33 before?
Any recommended workshop in puchong area?

Its possible that the thermostat might be spoil or the radiator cap isn't pressurizing the cooling system properly. At the same time, you might want to look for leakages throughout the cooling system. If you do change the thermostat, best to change the water pump as well.

Like nyantong said, check the above first. What you should also do is check the coolant level. Does it drop (remember there is a difference in the level when the car is driven hot and totally cold)? If so there is a leak somewhere. Then get it fixed. It also could be a blocked radiator, have it serviced as well.

Worse case scenario. Small leak in the head gasket. Escaping exhaust hot gases going into the radiator and heating the coolant up. If its a bad leak engine oil will also be brown and have sludge. So worth to open up the engine oil filler cap and check. If this is the case top overhaul needed.

While engine is hot, check the upper hose for unusually high pressure (hard and bloated hose).

While engine is cold, remove radiator cap. Let the engine warm up. Once warm enough, rev engine. If coolant spills out= bad head gasket.

On my 2nd A33, I just replaced the engine instead of repairing it. Not worth the hassle to restore old engine because there's no assurance that the engine block and head are still usable.

I have a same problem to my nissan cefiro elite. A32. my nissan cefiro has its normal temp at half. its an A32 2001 elite edition here in the Philippines. Since the climate here are usually very hot 35 degrees celcius, I had the automatic thermostat removed, so that the water will have a continuous flow. Every time I am caught on traffic during a very hot day, its temp goes more than half, even up to 3/4. The air conditioning is affected when that happens. I had cleaned the radiator, all the aux fan are okay. Every time I check the upper radiator hose when its temp is high, there are full of pressure that its so hard. Can you help other things I need to check to have a constant temp gauge. isnt it the gauge meter should be at 1/4 only always? What is the normal temp reading of this car? thanks you...

hi everyone..i run a 1996 tiara..the engine uses carburettor and recently i noticed there's smell of petrol coming from my engine..sent it to the mech and asked him to check..after checking, he said something behind my carb leaked and needed to be replaced..i got 2 options:

1. Replace the entire carb which would cost me 880 for a new one as the torn part which is rubber cannot be replaced. No replacement parts.

2. Rebuild the carburettor with a carburettor rebuild kit which would cost...
