Auto journalists get to grab some of the most desirable cars by the horns and wring them around to within an inch of their physical adhesion, reducing tyres to plumes of smoke and flogging engines to the limit in the process.
So saying that it would take something of spectacular proportions to get a high end auto scribe giggling like a school girl would be an understatement. Yet that is precisely what you will witness in the video below, Fifth Gear’s Jason Plato and Tiff Needell getting all weak in the knees, giggly and just downright acting like the captain of the football team is winking at them.
Sure they might look a tad ridiculous but considering that they were doing a compare between the Ferrari 458 Italia, and the newest kid in the supercar block, the McLaren MP4-12C, we think it’s safe to say that the excitement is well warranted.
The duo got to whip the supercars around the track, with Needell testing for thrills while Plato took over for precision and quick laps. If you’re expecting wild powerslides, clouds of tyre smoke and the occasional off-road excursion, you’re on the right page.
On paper, the McLaren has been declared as the superior choice, with Woking themselves claiming it to be the most complete supercar available now but once the pen is dropped in favour of the pedal, it’s a different story altogether.
