Hi all,

Anyone has encountered a low rpm upon changing to a mild steel MAARCO extractor? Im planning to change my exhaust pipe to full MARCO system. Whats the best piping size 15./1.6"?

What car u driving? 1.0L if n/a then use 1.5". If not mistaken marco exhaust for kenari and kelisa is that size.

no matter what mod u do to ur engine, if the engine cc is still the same, i suggest below:

manual tranny, use 1.4" pipe and 1.8" straight flow for best result, u get better of both world, good sustain of usable torque across broad rpm range from small pipe, and increased raspiness and mid end from straight flow muffler. dont bother to tune for high rpm range coz it actually lies way above kelisa redline on a street setup :D

marco use 1.5" and restrict the flow by sflow muffler supposedly to aid low rpm, but better get smaller pipe and free flow muffler :D

if 1.5" is good, 1.4" is superior, 1.6" u'll be just annoyed. trust me :D

if auto tranny, go for 1.3" pipe with 1.8" straight flow or 1.4" with 1.8" sflow

id rather experiment on the muffler instead of changing the whole piping set, cheaper

yes it is cheaper but result wont be satisfying, piping size bigger by even 0.2" from optimum, no amount of muffler or midbox can gain back the power

i believe better use smaller pipe with less mufflers than big giant pipe but have to put 2 bullets and a midbox. smaller pipe means quiter exhaust too so no need to baffle as much

and i believe imprezho's car is daily driven one, so 1.4" small pipe gives best sustain of long torque for cruising and top speed. bigger than this only gives 10 seconds pickup and torque die off early

oh wait im so sorry, what car are we talking abut???is it kelisa?i talked a lot but dont know for what car. shame of me :stupido2:
if its kelisa, 1.4" is cun

Hey upontheriversky, Yes kelisa manual tranny. May i know the current pipe is 1.4? Currently according to the LEONG WAH exhaust MArco exhaust specialist, he has mentioned if i would to change to full marco exhaust setup, there will be one mid bullet only and a bigger muffler in order to maintain my torque and top speed as of now since i last tried last week at 175km/h. However, im not too sure about that setup as he has told me its gonna be quieter sound. I would like a slightly louder sound only that the current stock exhaust i have now. any advice?

wah, ur top speed is 175km/h? how was the pulling power at 160kmh? thats really good weh haha

actually, i found that kelisa 1st gen and 2nd gen has different pipe size. what i did was i went to stranger's car and take a ruler and measure the diameter of tailpipe haha :D, if i assume same diameter across exhaust system, 1st gen is 1.3" and 2nd gen is 1.25". its actually not 1.4" as all people been talking

if sound is a concern, swap the muffler to bigger inlet one. i think marco's muffler is 1.6" inlet sflow. swap to 1.8" straight muffler. u should get better launch and sound too but powerband may shift a bit higher in rpm range from what u have now

personally, i like 1.4" pipe and straight flow for kelisa manual because with this setup, the car is snappy and you dont need to rev 4-5k during launching to feel the "g-force". 3k launch u got the g-force feeling d, perfect for fast and furious in bustling town traffic haha

if ur willing to wait, i have asked a pro in the states to help me in length tuning our kelisa intake and exhaust system for 3rd harmonic pressure wave. ive given all info about the stock engine to him (valve events, intake/exhaust port size, rod length, bore/stroke etc), the only holdback now is i havent got our valve stem and valve head diameter so im gonna go spare part shop and measure them. he will calculate using pipemax software which is famous among engine tuner in drag and circle track in the states because the software takes into account specific details of an engine to come up with an exhaust and intake spec

once ive got the result and check if the spec makes sense for road use, ill post it up for reference

Yes my top speed was 175km/h but i think the car is still able to go faster since at 160km/h im at the fourth gear already. Yes i would like a slightly louder sound but i suppose straight flow exhaust will be just too loud if that was what you mean? As per my current setup of the exhaust system, i do have the marco 3-1 extractor, 2 mid bullets, original kelisa muffler with standard piping from perodua which is confirmed at 1.25 inch pipes. I need to know that the next change of exhaust system that i would like is a slightly bigger pipings which is 1.5, one big bullet and a big muffler which improves my torque drastically which is what i want. Perhaps you could show me a picture of the 1.8 straight flow muffler i should use instead. I just dont want to face low torque/acceleration after fitting the wrong mufflers.

Oh yea and another thing which i added on to my car was grounding cables and voltage stabilizer and tested again at sprint highway where i was able to drag 2nd gear up to 80km/h with 5.5 rpm. Before this i was able to feel my torque up to 5.0-5.2 rpm max torque only. Hey perhaps we could meet up and discuss further since i plan to do my exhaust setup before the CNY 2012. Im just left with my bullets, mufflers only.

Bro, for Campro CPs which exhaust system best fits? R3? Hotbits? Marco? Superstreet?

Hi Whazzzup, for the price of a full marco exhaust system which includes extractor 3-1, centre bullet, muffler all the way to the tip of exhaust costs RM 520 but apparently recently i think LEONG WAH Marco exhaust specialist has increased slightly a bit on the pricings. My advise is if you are a person who likes to modify things step by step its best to change your extractor first/ extractor and muffler only.

Just wondering if anyone here drives a Fiesta 1.6S, would love to hear some comments about it. I personally think it is the best offer in the market compared to other hatchbacks and sedans which are in the similar price range like the Mazda 2, City, Latio & etc.
