The M1144 are OE for the Satria R3s. Main reason for that car's brutal braking performance. Some squeell when new and cold but after bedding in they are fine.

My Kelisa and AE86 both use 1144 on the fronts. Of course ,The warmer they are the more effective but they work from cold. No problems in wet weather either (that's more down to tyres actually  )

On my AE, lasted 4 genting drives, 4 SIC Track Days and about 6-7 months in total . And car is regularly driven daily too
thanks for the detailed reply, Faisal. that really cleared up my doubts. will certainly PM u for the pads when the need arises! thanks again!

Eh bro, Dot 5.1 can use for daily driver ke?
currently im using Dot 5.1 n basically i have no problem at all during daily drive.but maybe when my brakes still cold in the morning...i kinda had to press my brake pedal harder.anyway im agreed with pimpin323 regarding the ebc greenstuff.squeky on the road and fades fast.IMHO not recommended.also one more thing about minivan 'formula'...it really works.

Thanks for sharing your experience and views. Say, is Bendix Metal King Gold produces a lot of brake dust?

I found this on the web trying to get specs on the Mintex Redbox:

Got the new Issue of The Golf magazine. They did a test of a bunch of
HP brake pads. Here are the results. This was a independent testing
and they did 15 test on each pad. They did not test for dust or other
factors.

Pad: Average Stopping Distance:

Standard OE VW Pads 34.4m
Frenzi Italia 32.3m
Pagid T4151 31.6m
Pagid FR4151 30.7m
Ferodo DS2000 32.7m
Brembo 31.8m
G-Force Sport 30.5m
Formula Pads 32.7m
OMP 961k 30.7m
Mintex 1144 26.9m

stopping distance is one thing... important? yes...

but how how about things like, how they perform under constant abuse? how much abuse before they start to fade? wear rate?

I can safely say having used the M1144 on several cars they can take some beating.

8-10 constant laps of SIC (with maximum braking effort) without any fade. Hard braking sat the usual places such as T1, T9, T15

last some 15000 km in a regularly abused Satria R3

I can attest to the M1144. It has brilliant bite, and does not fade. Definitely my brake pad of choice. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. I am currently testing a Project U equivalent (can't reveal what brand as they are development pads). Not half as good as the M1144 but will be reasonably priced.

For true enthusiasts, nothing gives you more confidence and stopping power (fast road pads at least) as the Mintex M1144. Really kick-ass stuff. Gone laps and laps in Sepang without fade.

I second the M1144's. Worth every damn penny. On a run down Genting, its true colours show when you're 70% down once the pads have really heated up. Same
thing after 5-6 laps at Sepang. You could almost swear the calipers gained a couple of pistons.

I've a question though; will pads wear out faster if they're regularly run below their optimum temperature zone?

Yeah, those corners are damn hard on your brakes. Wah, 15000 kms + regular SIC trips, now that says' something about 'em!

I would like to know about this too. I'm not going to SIC every month, and the car would be sedately driven on a daily basis.

My first front pair lasted 25Ks (about 9 months). The second less than 20K due to more events and track days.
