L9 Turbo Knocking ~

It knock when the turbo reach it's full boost @ 1.2 Bar ~ sometime when after deceleration when accelerate back it will even knock on 0.5 Bar on WOT ~

When deceleration there was pop pop sound from the exhaust and if on high gear acceleration on low speed the car behaves like rev cut and alot off pop sound and black smoke from the exhaust ~

What happen to it =S

what turbo u use?? Std from L9 or big one?? if std max only 1.1bar (btw std turbine effective until 1.1bar only more than that useless)..if more than 1.1bar u need to change ur fuel pump, and if above 1.2 bar than need change ur injector to 230 or 240cc..and go do wideband tuning oso... dun simply raise ur boost otherwise ur engine condemn soon... and one more thing if u up 1bar above better get one step colder spark plug..if not u will have great knocking... ok if pop sound or ur car feel like got rev cut..try change your coil plug... test first before u buy,...thanks

Mod only TD04 turbine and SR20DET fuel pump ~

Plug now im using NGK G-Power ~

now running 0.6 Bar no problem....i suspect maybe the fuel pump is faulty cause it was a 2nd hand unit ~ =S

if got fuel regulator try check the pressure...izzit normal or abnormal... normally if fuel pump 'kong' they will no 'pop' sound...it should powerless at high acceleration, knocking or sluggish at high RPM... if pop or letup2 sound it must be your coil plug....

No fuel regulator ,just replace the fuel pump ~ i feel sometimes when the boost aren't kick in and i floor the pedal down,the engine runs horribly rich,pop sound + black smoke ......and it got knocking at high rpm too =S

But 1 question spins around my mind..... what fuel should i use,RON 97?

below 1 bar still can use Ron 95 if above 1 bar better using Ron97... try check ur plug what r u using? 6 or 7, more than 1 bar better use 1 step colder than std plug(std if not mistaken no 6, and try replace the coil maybe one of ur coil kong d...

ur runing rich cause u dun have a regulator..

i will narrow it down to these few problems.

1. Bad spark plugs, plug wires and or coils.
2. Leaking intercooler piping.
