Let me give you some reasons why Airtrek can't win.

- Overly heavy chassis. Once, someone weighed it and it was close to 1700kgs.
- Less efficient and slow gear change of INVECS II compared to Golf's twin clutch system.
- In stock, Airtrek puts out 160-170whp vs. 180-190whp of Golf's.

If your car is completely stock and wants to race with Golf, I suggest you to do the following:

1) Intake - change to K&N filter if possible, if you're still using FMIC, then swap the rubber pipes with steel piping to minimize loss of boost.
2) Ignition - ensure your plugs are in good condition
3) Exhaust - decat + less restrictive muffler
4) Fuel - fuel regulator
5) Turbo - boost controller
6) ECU - remapping dyno tune

If your engine is healthy, a good tuning can give you 220whp. Then you may stand a chance :) GOOD LUCK!

get high camshaft and evo turbos sure can beat golf gti..
Yup.. that will be stage 2. Coupe with bigger turbo and FMIC, you can achieve around 260whp.

stock airtrek parts have strong torque if increase the boost.. our stock TD04 produces high torque and very quick response. just that it is out of breath when over 5500 rpm. installing evo cam will make torque higher. i think, u just need to proceed the stage 1 mod if u just want to beat stock golf gti. is it golf gti mk5 or mk6?

Mk7 is even faster! So get to Stage 2 before you race with him. I assume this is 'drag' right? If in circuit, a lot needs to be done on the handling of Airtrek if you wanna beat GTi Mk7!

they are fast due to its lightweight chasis and DSG system.. engine isn't that monster they only produce 200 bhp. they can win bcos of power to weight ratio. dump all the dead weight on your trek bro before sprint..

dude, good news. but this is no 100% guarentee sure, it is just abit of help from blood brothers. heheh..

after comparing the stock golf mk7 acceleration from youtube, our trek with boost 1.2 ~ 1.3 accelerate much faster than stock golf mk7.

so, u just need stage 1 mods + ECU reflash + 1.2 bar of boost to beat the golf.. u can see youtube yourself to confirm this. hope this helps..

dont even bother la bro...stock gti's have 210-220whp in stock form....they easily get up to 250-300whp range with just a remap and a bit of breathing work done...the gti got 300kg weight advantage as well....it's not just hp and torque figures, it's the whole combo of technology it has.....better gearing.....faster gear changes.......wide rpm range of torque from down low.....it'll accelerate faster and stop faster too.....so unless you've got like 350-400whp with that 1700weight......no chance in earth.

weight and that crappy 4 speeder is the killer :)
