Gearbox is one of the biggest power robber in Airtrek's setup. It's slow and lazy. Dyno-proven before. Same hardware with just gearbox swap from auto to manual saw a jump of 50whp! That's why for those whose on manual, it's a whole world faster than the original auto with not much engine mods.

But then living in KL and you don't drag race your car everyday, so can still live with the crappy slow box. Haha...

Hmm.... little chance you can win bro (even your engine power reaches 260whp)... GTi is very stable at high speed. Additionally, our technology was like 13 years ago compared to Mk7 GTi.

My Airtrek isn't stable at speed above 200kph. Maybe my wheel balancing + suspension aren't up to it.

Top speed for sure to lose as I haven't remove the speed cutter. Gti was very stable when I drove it at 200. Maybe I can beat merc A250

In stock, Airtrek is not really that fast. The book says 240hp & 0-100 in 6.5 secs. Many has tested, 0-100 probably is around 9 secs. With the age of our cars, maybe it produces around 210hp at the crank resulting 160whp. So it's not fast by today's standard.

but if u r sprinting with really2 stock golf, u might have a chance if u mod ur car. our car is really mod friendly. which means so much performance part available to choose. last time when my car really stock (only boosting 0.9), i did try to cucuk stock scirocco at 80kmh. then when road is clear we both sprint but soon after 120kmh, scirocco start to build gaps. after 160kmh, he is far by 10 meters so i lift my foot.. hahah.. but then i know stock car's limit.

Bro, was that a TSI or GTi Scirocco?

I assume if one buys a GTi, unlikely they'll keep it stock. At least there'll be minimal mods. Just like us. :)

Airtrek is certainly mod-friendly due to it's Evo bigger brother. :)

Single pot on my car seems not adequate to my liking. It doesn't give a more than enough confident braking experience. So I decided to search for a more capable brake system.
First hunt, one workshop nearby quoted me RM750 for a front set Eterna TT twin pot, I was stunned. Hell, I felt like an idiot. He really didn't know we are living in the internet age. He claimed it was the cheapest in town some more. wth!
So I called up my friend. A week later he called back informing he had just...
