The HPC MAM 4 Hour Endurance 2011 will mark the first ever circuit event sanctioned by the Motorsport Association of Malaysia (MAM), marking a milestone in motorsports development in the country.

Se to be held on 12 June 2011, the race, organized in collaboration with HPC Motorsports, will be held with three categories to be contested. They are based on production saloons and are limited by engine capacity at 2-liters, 1.8-liters and 1.6-liters.

The best bit is that the race combines the old and new specifications of categories from past and present S1K, MSS and MME races, assuring plenty of cars are eligible for the race. It will also mark the return of the S1K-winning Kegani Autotech Toyota Levin driven by Kenny Lee. Established racing teams from Pentagon and JC Racing will also be participating, providing for a competitive atmosphere.

Despite the emphasis on affordable racing, safety will be of the highest order with no compromise. A number of FIA-recognised sporting regulations that were set out by the MAM will be put into effect.

A new ruling that is being put into place is the reduction of the minimum weight for the 2-liter class to 1,150kg. The rule was amended following feedback from participants as adding a 200kg ballast to the current MSS spec cars could prove bring about safety issues.

Registration for the race is currently open and will close on 2 June 2011 in conjunction with the event launch that will take place at the GP Caffee at 9pm. Payment counters will be set up on the day itself at the launch venue for those wanting to beat the deadline.

Entry forms are available at High Performance Challenge and all enquiries can be forwarded to Brian Eravelly, the Director of HPC, at [email protected] or to Eizwar Supiar from the MAM at [email protected].
