Set to pave a new direction in motorsports, the FIA Formula E racing series had caught a lot of attention around the world. With countries like Italy, China, Britain and even Malaysia already signing up to host the race which will tour the globe in 2014, this all-electric race might just be the next big thing in the annual motorsports calendar.

And since they had confirmed another venue for these speedy electric racers to blitz through, Formula E decided to run a little demonstration of what it could do in Los Angeles. The demonstration run was opened by the Mayor Antonio Ramon Villaraigosa, and Los Angeles seems to be a great location for such a race to be held as it is on the verge of becoming the electric car capital of the world.

The demonstrations took place during Earth Day, and piloting the Formula E car was ex-Formula 1 driver and official Formula E test driver Lucas di Grassi.

“We are very thankful to the Mayor and the authorities for the enthusiastic welcome they have given our Championship and are honored to have Los Angeles on board to host Formula E and share our passion for promoting sustainable motoringâ€, said Alejandro Agag, CEO of Formula E Holdings.

The FIA Formula E is the world’s first fully-electric race which will be zooming through various parts of the world beginning 2014. Ten cars and 20 drivers will be taking part in the races held in city streets lasting one hour each, with the cars capable of hitting 225km/h with zero emissions.

Hi,

Am plannin to get my ride re-painted and restore its ol skool look. Its a 1985 Toyota Cressida.

Currently :
- rust spots all over the car
- paint starts to flake, espcially at the trunk area.
- Big holes caused by the blardy rusts...(Behind rear wheel mudflap)
- Mini dents. Accumulated over d years.(Motorbike handle bars, plp leaning, etc)

My questions are:
- Will the cost be cheaper if I were to re-paint the car with the same color (ori paint)??

- Re-welding and bondo 'ing'...
