Anybody using these? They are between 30% to 50% cheaper than the equivalent Michelin Pilot Sport 4, but the PS4 is not 30% better.

My focus is wet braking, handling, and aqua plane resistance, which they either beat or are close to the PS4. Subjective handling they seem to falter.

@vr2turbo got a good place to get these for cheap?

Nowadays heard many places also got offer, but depends on the brands. Can ask OS Autocare in Sect 34, Shah Alam, Hin Leong in Klang, Oscar tyre in Bukit Kemuning, HupShun in Bandar Sunway, to name a few.....

Haven't tried yet but I don't think you'd go wrong with it, and should be an excellent value for money eventhough not as cheap as the V12e2.

V12e2 wet not as good as the FK510, but yes its cheaper. I *really* want the PS4, but at 30~50% price difference, not worthwhile. Plus my cruise liner is known to chew tyres on the inside for the rear axle.
V12E2 is not the best in any criteria except maybe noise and comfort but given the price it's unbeatable for a UHP class. But for you I'd suggest just get the FK510, should be good enough and the delta price over V12E2 should be justifiable.

If chew tyres on the inside, V12Evo2 being directional, you can flip them then change sides.......lol

Good point provided he wants to do such flip. I think many modern cars now are like that. My Mark X is also like that for both front and rear but I don't bother to flip coz not so significant difference at least for my driving. If you like to corner a bit fast then the outer side actually would wear out faster also.

Steering feels lighter, lower unsprung weight versus run flats? Let’s rub it in a bit.

You're not running 255/40/18 at the rear? Or 245/40/18 all square?

255/40 R18 rears. Stock staggered setup. I want square setup but I don’t want to buy rims. Cause I only buy original shit, so forged wheels will cost close to 10k.

Rears are stock run flats. I was forced to change cause my front passenger tyre was pregnant.

Feels lighter since tyres are new, let it scrub a while.....

Your stock rims are 8j and 8.5j so can still use 245 all around.

Btw I've been testing the Continental Extreme Contact Sport, very good also.

FK510 is 21lbs.. the P7 RFT is 28lbs for the same size... so it is really lighter.. but yeah scrubbing now. Still very strong rubber smell. Made in Japan as well.

Hahaha you're too technical. If 8.5jj then actually 245 is the best fitment, while 225 is more for 8jj but again depends on the actual tread width like the article you posted sometime ago, that is if you want to go to that level of detail. Me last time I just run 245 square on 8/9jj. Now 225/45 front and 245/40 rear, maybe next change try 255/40 rear.

Yes slightly cheaper, 245/40 is about same price as PS4 225/45.

I had intentions of changing my rims. But considering the amount of money spent, I'm not bothered. So taking into consideration that the tyres *may* be chewed, I opted for these FK510 against the PS4. If money were no object I'd definitely go for the PS4.

Anyway so far in terms of NVH it's definitely ahead of the Pirelli P7 RFT. And the steering feels lighter, BUT it doesn't feel as sharp/responsive -- feels slow to input. I guess the P7 had really stiff sidewalls, and that contributed to steering response.

The FK510 actually has a relatively stiff sidewall already plus it should have better compound. Give it more time to rub it in, it may improve.

Yeah mentioned relatively a bit understeery, but it's still selected again in the 2019.

high speed it’s sensitive. Just low speed (below 60km/h) not responsive

Anyway so far I’m absolutely loving the NVH improvements. God the rear P7s are roaring. It’s already less than 50% left, gonna change it once they hit 3mm.

I’m pretty sure the cruise liner’s performance will notably improve after changing all the tyres.
