Taking your car down to the track is always fun, but not when you think about the damage that it does to your car; increased tire and component wear, possible damages from collisions, and of course the ever embarrassing factor of a faster car pawning you on track. Well, if you have limited funds then the only choice is to deal with it and tune your car for more power and speed, if funds are no problem then you buy a dedicated track tool.

Naturally one thinks of a Caterham or a Ariel Atom when looking for a track day tool, but that list now includes a cheaper, even faster alternative. It's not built by any well known manufacturer of kit cars but by an individual by the name of Dennis Palatov, the man behind the dp4. He visited the Oregon Raceway Park in the US with his super go-kart to show the car to prospective customers, and it impressed.

It took on the likes of track tuned Mazda Miata's or MX-5 as they are known this side of the world, and even a Ariel Atom was no match, it was so impressive that the track workers nicknamed it "the Batmobile." One potential buyer stepped out of the car after four laps and said "going from the dp4 back to a Caterham CSR is like going from the Caterham to a stock Elise." Going back to the issue of finance being no problem, well if it's not then the US$25,910 starting price for a kit sounds reasonable, doesn't it?

While it took six years for GT5 to come about following the last version, Forza has really stepped on the gas pedal to bring us the fourth instalment in the...
