Dude, regardless of what u think I think u meant.. for these kind of cars, it's a sellers' market..

and only, and I say ONLY, enthusiasts need apply..

for those who think 60k-80k for a 20 year old car is ridiculous, I would like to restate what I've said earlier..

Perhaps this thread is not for you..

Cheers! :driver::biggrin:

yes, i agree to what you said so

not me, i just think most people will think like that so that's why i feel it's difficult to sell off the car. 60-80k is not ridiculous price for this car but have to pay in all cash is the main issue that restricting most of the FD lover unable to buy it. I think the type RB that sold off 90k by Rerider with loan available is a very great deal for the buyer.

i am a FD lover too

That's part of the excitement of owning such legends.. not many would have the privilege of driving, let alone own them cars.. if anybody and everybody could own it, why bother?

No loan. The buyer paid RM90k cash for Type RB. I would pay RM200k for a good condition Spirit R if anyone selling here in Msia. If there is no loan available, I still want to buy it.

I love RX-7, I can afford it and I will buy it.

Precisely...thats an awesome point. RX-7, due to the looks, handling, feeling, attention you get from the car and its legendary status, is a collectors item as we speak. To date, FD3s is the only japanese sports car that made it to playboy's car of the year.. :) To get a tip top condition rx-7 inside out is almost impossible, as the owners are very reluctant to sell it..irregardless of the price. The ones we see, selling for 60k for example, is either riced up, more than 5 owners, and just require another 30-40k and lots and lots of patient just to make it tip top and road worthy.

Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to get a loan for a car that is more than 10 years in our country..hence, the decrease in car prices. However, i believe cars like rx7, supras, nsx, will not depreciate in value, it will appreciate..

To own and drive one of these legends is an honour. The feel of it, the smile it brings to ur face and the attention you get from it.. no words could describe it. So for those that complain about "wah 80k is so expensive for a 15 year old car"..dude, u dont deserve to own it..simple coz u cant afford it. Believe me, 80k is not the issue..the issue is that the remaining monies u have to put in to make the car as good as it could be..

Its not just any car..its an RX7..and i love it.

Just my humble opinion.

Touching phrases...

seriously am really proud to own an rx7. took me 5yrs approx for me to save up money to get this car.
I wanted an FD. But I cannot stand the thought of another few years to save the money . So I ended up with an FC instead. but hey, Im still VERY GLAD

but I'll definitely make sure I get to own an FD in the future. seeing u guys own FDs makes me ....

Ah, the age old question of why we love the RX7s.

For me its 3 very simple factors.

1) Pure Balance
2) Achingly Beautiful - without crap like Massive batmobile GT wings, 22 inch rims, Vinyls that reflect the sun, paint jobs that scar the retina etc...
3) Expensive maintenance - weeds out the poseurs who cannot afford sports cars.

RM60K - RM80k is actually dirt cheap when it comes to buying a Rx7. In fact, I think its too cheap...allows young kids access to performance that is way out of their league. 300hp, Rwd in a sub 1350kg body is not for "P" drivers.

I strongly recommend that all potential FD sellers screen their buyers before selling the cars. 2 reasons.

1) I would still love to buy FDs 10 years down the road. (wouldn't want all the drag/drift kids to write them all off).
2) Dun want too many Ah Bengs with cash....being seen in an FD (ruins the timeless classic status that ensures re-sale value).

I discriminate with a passion but its all for the love of the Rx7.

heh.

The title of the world’s fastest road legal car was never easy to obtain, but one will instantly be an automotive legend once it manages to do so. Among those that had become an icon in being the fastest machines are the Jaguar XJ220 (343km/h), McLaren F1 (372km/h), and the Bugatti Veyron EB16.4 (408.47km/h). But what about the fastest convertible?
