big rim must change bigger brake. is it must?

if u look at it at cosmetic point of view.... yes u need to fit bigger rotors to fill up the gap.....

if not, it is not necessory to fit bigger rotors when u upgrade bigger rims....
if u got the cash, why not... it is alwiz good in investing money in better brakes...

But seriously, upgrading calipers and rotors means nothing if the brake pads aren't up to scratch

big rims not nescessary need big calipers...it is very objective...
do a test like this to decide whether the current set up is fit for you...
on a highway road with not many cars and many lanes for you to drive...
go to speed up to 100kmph and step on moderate hard to speed of 50kmph
decide how fast the car slows down...from here you can roughly know if the brake is sufficient or not...

depends, if the difference on overall rolling diameters not more than 5% from original tires to new tires for my opinion is OK for daily use. Some websites even state that any larger than 3% is dangerous.

My orginal rims is 15" with 195/50/R15 tires on it, and currently I got 18" rims with 225/40/R18 tires on it. According to that site, my 18" tires are larger by 3.5% in diameter.

oh my god thats big big difference. Did you recalibrate your speedometer? If not then when your speedo is doing 100km/h but actually you're doing 111km/h.

about the brakes, i personally won't say bigger rim must use bigger brakes, but instead its bigger rims CAN use bigger brakes. Well, i personally don't look into the asthetic side of the car, but just on the performance. Brakes' bigger the better until it is good enough to slow your car down. anything bigger will just make your car slow since brake rotor weight alot.

I personally would choose a rim to fit the brakes, instead of the other way around.

yes for your current wheel and tire size. example, its like before you change your rim and tire, it turn one round it goes 100cm, but with the bigger wheel, one round it goes 111.4cm. so it will be like your speedo shows 100km/h but you are actually going faster. and also your tripmeter will show 11% less than the actual millage.

Depends on which tire profile you choose. You can achieve same rolling diameter with different tire profiles on different rims.
