Today TC Euro Cars (TCEC) previewed Renault’s flagship SUV, the Renault Koleos for the first time in Malaysia.

The all-new Renault Koleos will be launched in stages, in more than 80 countries around the world. The good news is, Malaysia is selected as one of the first country to debut the D-segment SUV, ahead of Europe and China.

Said to feature “powerful design and refined interior”, the SUV will be available in all Renault’s showroom across the country starting mid-October 2016, with an introductory price of RM172,800

Exterior

The Koleos is an SUV with design similarities to Renault’s flagship sedan – the Talisman – therefore making the Koleos an unmistakable flagship SUV. The C-shaped DRLs give a distinctive presence to the SUV, and illumination is provided by the Pure Vision LED headlights.

At the rear, Renault showcases familiar tail light design, as available on the Megane and Talisman. The wide, horizontal LED tail lights amplify the sense of width and draw the eye to the Renault logo on the tailgate.

The taut bonnet lines aid to the SUV’s powerful design, an impression that is heightened by several chrome elements, including strips on the fenders that visually lengthens the front end and exuding dynamism.

Despite the contemporary and muscular lines, the Koleos boasts traditional SUV traits; door protective mouldings, large-diameter 18-inch Argonaute alloy wheels and aluminium roof bar.

The Renault Koleos is available in four colours – Universal White, Meissen Blue, Grey Metallic and Black Metallic.

Interior

Onboard, there’s 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and customizable 7-inch TFT meter cluster with ambient lighting that can be personalised to add uniqueness to everyday driving. Multimedia system is provided by a 8.7-inch portrait screen format in the centre console.

The front seats get 6-way power adjustments (driver only), power lumbar support and Titan Black leather upholstery.

The all-new Renault Koleos sports a class-leading interior space for rear passengers. With 289mm of knee room, it is not only the most compared to its rivals, but the Koleos is also generous in head room, shoulder room and elbow room.

The boot of the Koleos features 'Easy Break' system, with 60/40 split configuration, enabling the SUV to contain up to 1,690dm³ VDA boot space. Elsewhere, there’s an additional 35-litres of storage around the cabin, including an 11-litre glove box and a 7-litre cubby in the centre console.

Engine

The Koleos will be equipped with a different powerplant depending on the location that it will be marketed. As for Malaysia, the Koleos is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol engine, coupled to a new X-Tronic CVT automatic transmission.

The efficient engine is capable of churning out 169hp at 6,000rpm and 226Nm of torque at 4,400rpm. Renault also says that the engine is extremely responsive at low- and mid-range engine speeds, with 200Nm available from as low as 1,800rpm.

Safety

Thw Koleos SUV is governed by an array of safety features. Available as standards are adaptive front airbags, two curtain airbags, two lateral thorax/shoulder airbags (front occupants only), blind spot warning system, anti-whiplash front and rear head rests, rear ISOFIX anchors and pre-tensioner seatblets for all occupants.

For driving assists, the Koleos gets latest-generation electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, brake assist, electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and hill-start assist.

The all-new Koleos is available for bookings now at the aforementioned introductory price of RM172,800 for Peninsular Malaysia and RM116,800 in Langkawi, both inclusive of GST and insurance. For more head on to www.renault.com.my.

Eibach sucks

Eibach pro kit for putra.
Front - 2 fingers.
Rear - 5 fingers.

Just after a week, the front started to give "ekkkk ekkkkkk" sound on the driver side whenever i pass through road bumps or uneven road. And what's more? The ABS light also blinks occasionally (wheel touching the ABS wire until it hurts). I went to tyre shop and asked them to put rubber. But the annoying sound is still there. Dunno whether the Monroe absorber already kong or not. But there's no sign of any...
