So far I only know 2 benefit to replace bonnet with carbon fiber,
1. Reduce weight, hence improve performance/petrol.
2. For outlook purpose.

I heard that carbon fiber bonnet can help reduce engine heat, is that true ?
This is very useful for those turbo engine because of our environment nature - HOT WHETHER !

Anyone know and share ?

What Is the Purpose of a Carbon Fiber Hood? | eHow

Are you seeking opinions or facts?

Fact : CF is not a conductor of heat. Reducing engine heat is done by radiators, fans, coolants, etc.. but you already know that. Or are you talking about engine bay temperature? If engine bay temp - no difference unless your hood is vented or you lifted it.

And I believe you mean "petrol consumption"? Not improve petrol?

Opinion : A CF hood decreases frontal weight so it changes the handling characteristics of the car to some extent. I personally found it to be "lighter" to drive but for some reason the front grip wasn't as good when it came to high speed directional changes. But then again my car was a lowly Wira, compared to a aero-ed out full spec Evo that's probably a different story.

I Google before, and it state CF bonnet can reduce engine bay temp, I not sure about it, hope someone could advice.
Currently my bonnet is CF, but I prefer original more.
Because of that fact, I still stay with CF atm.

Btw, improve petrol consumption I meant, because lazy to type.

dkny,

Carbon fiber hood definitely will lift the impression about adding another 100whp.
The existing MR hood already light weight.

I do like the CF parts but taking care of it is another matters.

yes i agree on the 'taking care' part.

Mostly for Evo parts came in wet carbon product (Shiny...)
Getting the dry carbon seems different league already.

MKMD428,
Respect on you 'never fail' to treat the CF parts.
My CF sometime left under the sun for 2 month without anything/moving etc.
Lucky... seems all OK...

true as wat pangyau said bout the e8mr hood, its already lightweight, if u wanna get CF parts change the fenders.
If I recall correctly, sometime ago a Airtrekker using the Evo Alu hood decided to swap to a CF (wet) hood. Turns out the CF hood (from a reputable brand) was heavier than the Alu hood. Dry CF might be a different story though.

I think is because of the vents on top of the CF hood...could that be what they were saying but not specific enough so causing confusion?

Yup, if enclosed whatever material the heat is still contained, that is what bro Izso mentioned to vent it out then will be cooled....:driver:

Advantage: Carbon hood is alot lighter than stock, better apex reduce understeer for tracks.
Disadvantage: Easily crack with a small rock dropped above 10ft from the hood.

Who say no point? The fact my penis look bigger and the girls who ride in my car is wetter than my wet carbon hood.

Hi all 61T master,

I still cannot forget the feeling / excitement when I newly bring my car out from garage with 1.2 bar boosting in the street. After that successfully reduce the boost by installing new hose for actuator currently having my stock engine boosting @ 0.5 bar.
Now, I'm feeling itchy and want to up boost @ 0.8 bar (Enough for me as I'm fuel-consious person) and need master's advice for me what to do. Just simply up boost? Or what do I need in the first...
