Cars like the Aston Martin Vulcan are like a work of art on wheels. It looks unique, absurd, and nothing like you will ever see rolling on the streets. And that is also what is sad about the car as well, as the only chance one could see it on the move is on the track. But that might just change in the near future as someone in the U.K has some interesting plans for the Vulcan.
Speaking to AutoCar, Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer revealed that we might just see the day when the Vulcan is able to roam the streets without any issues. “When we went to market, there was hesitation from a few prospective owners because it didn’t have a road pack. We didn’t want to make it road legal from the start, because (special projects boss) David King and his team wouldn’t have been able to make such a stunning car in the first place, but RML said they have the ability to do it.”
Palmer said he expects about four or five of the 24 Vulcans destined for production to undergo this unique conversion. There is no word on how much the conversion is going to cost, but a safe bet would be somewhere in the six-figure territory. Making a track car legal to drive on the streets is easier in the UK compared to other places like the United States, so RML’s conversion might not be applicable to other parts of the world.
The Aston Martin Vulcan is a track-only car unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Featuring a 7.0-liter V12 engine mounted on an aluminium alloy chassis and carbon fiber, this supercar rolls with 800-horsepower sent to the rear wheels via an Xtrac six-speed sequential gearbox. Each of these 24 cars comes with a USD 2.3 million (RM 8.92 million) price tag.
