Unveiling the next chapter in their already accomplished success story, Audi Malaysia today unveiled their latest generation of the A6 sedan to the local market. The new Audi A6 will be offered with two engine options: an efficient 1.8 TFSI engine or a sporty 3.0 TFSI engine with their iconic Quattro.

With a newer lightweight aluminium composite construction, a sporty and dynamic chassis, powerful yet even more efficient engines and the latest multimedia systems, the new Audi A6 rewrites the business class standards, placing this distinguished sedan firmly as the leading character in this competitive segment,” said Immo Buschmann, Managing Director of Audi Malaysia.
One of the significant updates on the A6 would definitely be the ground-breaking Matrix LED technology combined with dynamic indicators. This technology makes use of an array of 19 light-emitting diodes per headlight paired with four reflectors to produce a high-beam light that illuminates the road far ahead whilst intelligently avoiding dazzling other road users.
The 1.8-liter TFSI found on the entry-level variant produces 190-horsepower and 320Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed S tronic transmission. Do not let the displacement fool you as this lass-leading business sedan can sprint from zerotohundred in just 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 233 km/h. Even with such performance, it still maintains class-leading fuel efficiency with a combined cycle of 5.7liters/100km and a CO2 emissions rating of 133g/km.
The flagship A6 however gets a gnarlier and improved supercharged 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine mated also to the seven-speed S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. With a total output of 333-horsepower and 440Nm of torque, zerotohundred is dealt in a quicker 5.1 seconds and will keep on accelerating until it hits the electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at 7.4liters/100km and a CO2 emission of just 172g/km.
To ensure a safe driving experience, the Audi A6 is packed with various electronic features including a start/stop system with energy recuperation, Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC), Traction Control (ASR), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), parking aid plus with selective display, and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). The 1.8 variant will come with six airbags, and eight for the 3.0.
The MMI navigation plus MMI touch system features the latest generation infotainment system on an 8-inch screen along with a Bose surround sound 12-channel amplifier with 14 loudspeakers. The new Audi connect functionality with Google Earth and Wi-Fi hotspot enables on-the-go owners to link the A6 to the Internet via a SIM card to enjoy LTE high-speed data transmission standards.
Offered in thirteen different colours, the new Audi A6 is now available for booking at all authorized Audi dealerships from August 25. The Audi A6 1.8 TFSI will be priced at RM 324,900 whilst the 3.0 TFSI will soon be available at an estimated price of below RM 500,000.
