Paving way to a new generation of the Prancing Horse, the brand new Ferrari California T has officially made its debut on Malaysian soil. Held in an exclusive premiere at the NAZA Italia showroom, Ferrari now joins the turbo movement with the California T where the V8 engine now gains more power with the assistance of a twin-turbo configuration.
Also present at the premiere were Mr. Giuseppe Cattaneo (Managing Director of Ferrari Far East), Mr. Simon Inglefield (Head of Sales ASEAN, Ferrari Far East), Datuk Wira Hj SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin (Joint Group Executive Chairman, NAZA Group of Companies), Datuk Maruan Mohd Said (Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategic Investment Division, NAZA World) and Mr. Wan Ahmad (General Manager, NAZA Italia Sdn Bhd).
“This latest generation California is faster with a more powerful and efficient engine that maximizes fuel economy whilst also maintaining Ferrari’s signature roar,” said Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, Joint Group Executive Chairman, NAZA Group of Companies.
Incorporating sublime elegance, sportiness, versatility and exclusivity that have distinguished every California model since the 1950s, the California T boasts cutting-edge technology, especially with the new turbocharged V8 engine. The direct-injection 3.9-liter V8 turbo pushes out 560-horsepower at 7,500rpm, with a specific power output of 145hp/l, and a maximum torque of 755Nm in 7th gear. With such power, zerotohundred is dealt in just 3.6 seconds, and takes only 11.2 seconds to reach 200km/h.
The car also features the latest F1-Trac, allowing maximum acceleration out of the corners, while the carbon ceramic brakes with new composite discs and pads is able to bring the turbocharged Horse to a halt from 100 to 0km/h in just 34 metres.
Working together with Pininfarina, the Ferrari Styling Centre had radically reworked the California T to give it a whole new personality whilst still retaining its original dimensions. Its flanks are a homage to the 250 Testa Rossa’s iconic pontoon-fender styling, with the front wing line stretching back bringing an aerodynamic sleekness to the sides.
The Ferrari California T is available to Malaysian customers at the introductory price of RM 888,800 (base price excluding duty and options).
