After unveiling their new C63 AMG and C63 AMG S, Mercedes still has another variant of the powerful sedan to be introduced to the public. Not keeping it under covers for long, this other variant in mention is none other than the special Edition 1.
The “Edition 1” moniker is a name given out by Mercedes-Benz to the first special series of a new model, and these vehicles are usually available in the first year. As for the time being, Mercedes had yet to reveal whether the Edition 1 will be seen on either the C63 AMG or C63 AMG S, or both. But like the A45 AMG Edition 1, the visual changes made to the car are easily recognizable.
Combining black and red accents all around the car, it gets new grey stripes all along the doors, 19-inch matte black wheels with a red outer lip, a gloss black front spoiler, some red accents on the front grille and chrome tailpipes.
On the inside, the C63 AMG Edition 1 gets a flat bottom steering wrapped in Alcantara and finished with silver accents, AMG Performance seats, Designo red belts, carbon fiber trims and full upholstery finished in Nappa black leather with red contrasting stitching.
As a recap, the new Mercedes-AMG C63 comes with a twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine producing 469-horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, while the range-topping S still has the same engine but with a higher output of 503-horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. Mated to a seven-speed AMG Speedshift MCT automatic transmission, zerotohundred for the C63 takes only 4.2 seconds, and a faster 4.1 for the S.
