The Lexus LFA might not be the fastest car in production, nor is it the cheapest in its category. But auto enthusiasts worldwide could not seem to get enough of this Lexus supercar, especially for its iconic V10 howl that serves as music to our ears. Although Lexus only produced 500 of this two-seater supercar and has reached the end of its line back in December 2012, Executive Vice President Mark Templin has revealed surprising news on the LFA.

Speaking at a ceremony for the new Lexus NX crossover, he said that Toyota President Akio Toyoda endorses the plan of having an LFA successor, saying that “Akio believes that every generation deserves to have a car like an LFA, so we’re building an LFA for the generation we have today. At some point, there may be another special car for another generation”.

The emergence of the LFA has brought Lexus to a whole new level not only on the work of the premium models, but also in the motorsports chapter. Since details are pretty scarce on this upcoming model, it is probably safe to assume that while they will still retain the layout of a front-engined rear-wheel drive car, the powertrain might include some turbocharging or hybrid elements.
