Being Honda Malaysia’s best-selling sedan since its introduction to the local market back in 2001, the fourth generation of the Honda City was launched today at the Publika Shopping Gallery, Kuala Lumpur. This highly-anticipated B-segment sedan has already received 1,800 bookings and positive feedbacks during its pre-launch events last month.
“The all-new City is the first model that Honda Malaysia is launching this year. It delivers sophistication with its overall package vehicle that suits consumers’ needs; combining premium look, exciting drivability, comfort and spaciousness with class-leading safety features,” said Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Yoichiro Ueno.
This fourth generation City is powered by a improved 1.5-liter SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 120PS at 6,600rpm and a maximum torque of 145Nm. It is coupled with the new Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) developed under Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology to provide both driving performance and fuel economy. The new City also features the ECON mode as standard across all variants to further improve the vehicle’s fuel usage.
Four variants are offered for this new City; the City S (RM 75,800), City S+ (RM 78,800), City E (RM 83,800) and City V (RM 90,800). It is also available in five choices of colours: Modern Steel Metallic, Alabaster Silver, Taffeta White, Crystal Black Pearl, and the new Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic. Honda Malaysia aims to sell 2,500 units monthly in 2014, and all the variants will be locally assembled at the Honda Malaysia’s Malacca factory.
