Aside from the X3 and X4 receiving bits and pieces of M Performance parts to shine at the upcoming Essen Motor Show, BMW’s booth will also be brought to life with the M3 and M4 fitted with styling and equipment upgrades.
The new aerodynamic kit for the M3 and M4 covers add-on parts like carbon side sections for the front bumper, a polyurethane (PUR) front attachment, carbon fiber rear diffuser and a carbon fiber rear spoiler. PUR is also used for the side skirt attachments and a rear spoiler for the BMW M3. The tri-color side decals with ‘M Performance’ lettering are available for the sedan, coupe and convertible versions.
Over to the interior, the steering wheel is covered in Alcantara, with carbon trim and Race Display also fitted for the M3 and M4. The painted carbon steering carries the ‘M Performance’ lettering, while the Alcantara has contrast stitching in the three BMW M colors. It does not stop there as the thumb rest feature a pair of embedded buttons used to activate Efficient Dynamics mode, Sport mode and Race mode. On top of the steering wheel is an integrated display that shows the gear change signals, lateral/longitudinal acceleration figures, stop watch and also the lap times.
An M Performance silencer system developed specifically for the two new models will also be showcased, optimizing the channeled exhaust gas to increase the engine soundtrack. The tailpipe embellishers are offered in either titanium or carbon with M logo finish.
