Step Aside SC 430, the LF-CC is Lexus’ New Machine in Conquering the Super GT!

Honda is not the only one coming up with a new car for the upcoming Super GT as Lexus also has been working on something secretly to grab the podiums. Set to replace the ageing SC 430, Lexus has lined up the two-door concept LF-CC to spearhead their charge to victory in the GT500 class.

Debuted at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the LF-CC is not a production vehicle like Honda’s HSV-010, but it had heavily influenced the design of the all-new 2014 IS. For the time being, no further information had been released about the LF-CC entering the Super GT except that Lexus had already taken out the LF-CC out to Suzuka Circuit for shakedown tests.

The LF-CC concept displayed at Paris is a mid-sized coupe powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with a full hybrid powertrain. Sending all the power to the rear wheels, the engine adopts the Atkinson cycle and D-4S direct injection technology in order to optimise both power and fuel-efficiency of the Lexus Hybrid Drive.
