It’s now coming up to October, and we all know what’s coming in October for our very own Sepang International Circuit (SIC), where the usual high-powered 4-wheeled racing machines get traded up for 2-wheeled crotch-rockets. That’s right, the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix (MotoGP) will soon be upon us at Sepang, from 19th – 21st October 2012 and tickets can be bought at 37 participating Shell Stations nationwide.
Of the 37 participating Shell Stations, 22 of them are located within the Klang Valley with 7 in Johor, 4 in Penang, 2 in Melaka and one each in Pahang and Negeri Sembilan and are encouraged to purchase the tickets via a Maybank credit card, which will get you a 27% discount off the price.
Azman Ismail, Managing Director, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd, said that the company was happy to contribute to making the 2012 Malaysian MotoGP a success. “Shell has a long history of involvement in motorsport at the global level through partnerships with Ducati in MotoGP and Ferrari in F1 racing. This partnership with SIC expands our involvement to the local level and we will definitely do our best to help pull in a record crowd to Sepang on race day,” he said.
Meanwhile, SIC Head of Marketing & Retail Sales, Sarinda Satria, said that the partnership with Shell was aimed at making it more convenient for MotoGP fans to purchase their tickets. “This is the second year that we are partnering Shell following a successful trial with 18 participating stations last year. We aim to sell at least 1,200 tickets this year through Shell’s well established network comprising many strategically located service stations,” she said.
Shell Advance will be making its presence felt at the Malaysian MotoGP at Sepang this year and fans can look forward to winning free packs of Shell Advance motorcycle engine oil and other attractive premiums by taking part in fun-filled challenges at the Shell Advance booth from 19 to 21 October, 2012.
