If there’s one thing that you learn from watching races, it’s how to do it right and what not to do. Take this video for example, it features the Prat & Miller Corvette Racing team that raced in the GT2 class of the recent American Le Mans Series and the team showcases what not to do in a race – don’t ever drive into your own team mate.
The team’s #4 C6.R GT2 race car collided with the #3 car and it wasn’t a bad a maneuver during the heat of the race but in the pit lane. The #3 car, driven by Jan Magnussen, began leaving the pit box after an unscheduled stop to repair a power steering hose when the #4 Vette, driven by Emmanuel Collard, came out of nowhere and slammed into his side. The #4 car immediately went in for repairs but the #3 car was forced to limp around for an entire lap with a flat front tire before returning for repairs. You have to watch the video to understand the severity of what happened, but just for the record, the team finished the 12-hour race in 8th and 9th place.
Note: The team has been dominant in the ALMS racing but that was before they switched from GT1 to GT2 racing, after which the team effectively went downhill.
