Used Condoms In China Turned Into
Rubber And Hair Bands

By Tham Choy Lin

BEIJING, Nov 13 (Bernama) -- Used
condoms recycled into rubber bands and
hair ties are being sold in bazaars in
southern Guangdong province at 25 fen
(15 sen) for a packet of 10.

Doctors have warned they can spread
AIDS, genital warts and other sexually-
transmi tted diseases, the China Daily
said.
"There are a lot of bacteria and
viruses on the rubber bands and hair
ties made from used condoms," said a
dermatologist at the Guangzhou
Hospita l of Armed Police was quoted as
saying.

The dermatologist, identified only as
Dong, said people could be infected if
they hold the recycled bands in their
mouths while weaving their hair into
buns or plaits.

White -collar worker Chen Wenlan, a
frequent customer, was disgusted when
she discovered rubber bands given to
her by a beauty salon last week was
made from recycled condoms.

"Many of my friends have not yet hear
the news. It is really terrible," she
said.

The used condoms are said to have been
sourced from local entertainment
ven ues and Guangzhou authorities say
it is an offence to make goods from
used condoms.

Its so glad to know China still have some people are so into environmental friendly campaign and recycle waste in such extend.Using a used condom to tie hair could be a new trend for those green peace campaign... :P

well, its not so surprise, many of the plastic cups for the drinking machines are also made by recycling the medical waste. The medical disposed cotton also can be used to stuff your pillow, blanket or other stuff toys.

And the soup for the steamboat also can be recycle but not to forget the food left over by previous customer in the restaurant can be served again to next customer after "rearrangement" in kitchen.

Other famous reported recycle stuff in china include:

*soya sauce made from human hair
*milk made from disposed leather goods
*expired salted egg re-colored and package to resell
*"smelly tofu" blended by shits collected from the animal farm
*plastic knife, spoon and forks made from disposed medical waste
*expired rice grain bleached again and repacked to sell as fresh one
* collect the used bottle of branded mineral waters, refilled with tap water and resell.
* many other bla bla bla........

The china now is having quite a lot of social problems, since the education system was not working well during the past decades, the moral and ethics are very low. Many of the people just feel nothing and ignorant on doing harm to other.

people will just do whatever things for money, and in some extend their not even able to bother or to know what will be the harm from the way they doing things.

because the wealth gap is so serious, people are crazy for quick bucks and dont bother anything else.

I been working and travelling around this region for few years, seen too many of those craps...

gangster problem is also quite serious in china, some involvement with the hongkong and taiwanese triad are part of the cause. As a foreigner, we just try to stay as far as possible from them.

But msia also not bad, heard that msia is the biggest supplier for those drugs pills in guangdong......and they provide technical knowledge to the chinese gang to make new drugs....my friend in china told me one botak guy from msia is the leader of that gang...perhaps msia biggest export to china is ecstacy...haha

Hey guys,

I've heard several stories of shops charging customers for doing balancing off wheel and then charging them again for doing off wheel balancing. Please be careful and take note:

For example: If a shop takes your tyre out and balances it, charges RM5 and then put it back on your car.... drives your car and then finds it's still out of balance and then he chooses to do an 'on wheel' balancing and charges you RM30 he SHOULD NOT charge you the other RM5 earlier simply because he was...
