This week, we will be featuring another service by one of friends at Playhouse Garage. We have written about their restoration and customisation work that are offered at Playhouse Garage last week and this is one service that compliments them, paint works.

Paint is usually applied to the car, once all the rust spots have been identified, welded and sealed up. The layer of paint is used to protect the car from further rusting, once the metalworks has been done. This Toyota TE71 Corolla still has a smooth body and remaining paint on it, so it was spared from bare metal paint scraping.

Usually, depending on the customers request, the paint is scrapped to bare metal, to make sure that the new paint job is smooth. Of course, additional requests means additional costs, but sometimes, perfection demands spending top dollar to achieve it.

Once after the paint has been scrapped or has been sanded down smooth, the car is applied with a layer of paint prep, to make sure that the body is smooth without wavy indention on the car. Another layer of clear coat to the car is applied prior to painting the car in full with paint.

Once the paint is done, the paint is still matte and non reflective. A layer of lacquer is applied to the final product to make the car shine. This ensures that that paint coating is protected with the layer of lacquer.

If your keen on restoring your old school, antique or classic car, you should approach Rahmat in Playhouse Garage. He could also give you a seriously beautiful customisation job, the way you want it and like it. I sincerely believe that he is the one with the skill in Malaysia to restore your car properly and his metalworks is simply out of this world. Since Rahmat will help us realise our Z project, he mentions that a special discount is given to interested parties who wants their old bombs restored by him.

Just mentioned that you found this advertisement on Zerotohundred.com and contact him on this:

On the side note, user nuway has donated RM50 generously to our donation box recently.

Fellow readers, I am glad that you have followed me this far up to the 21st week in the Project Z restoration, modification and build. As certain readers have pointed out that they are gladly to donate the money to make this project a reality, I have seek permission from Tom and he has approved a donation box through either Paypal or Maybank.

The donations can be in minimum denominations of RM50 and we will acknowledge your name (either in your forum username or full name). We will continuously update the donors list week by week, whenever there is one. Please email me at [email protected] if you have made your donations.

You can donate by either methods : Paypal or Maybank2U

The paypal account address is [email protected]

or

Here's the details of the bank in account

As I am only using my CIMB account to receive money from my employer, my Maybank account has been pretty much dormant. It currently holds about RM104.18 in funds in the account. So any donations would be noted down in my mini statement.

Please do your part in helping us realise our dreams. I hope the Nissan Fairlady 200ZG Z31 will complete hopefully by end of the year, so we can participate this car in the upcoming races. We also look forward to participate in the MSS Classic car challenge, which allows cars 25 years or older to participate. This car will turn exactly 25 years next year, so it would be a great way to celebrate its birthday.

The money donated would be used to purchase neccesary items to complete the build. At the moment, we look into finding a Nissan RB26DETT engine that costs RM2,800. This engine is incomplete and needs a flywheel, coil and an ECU. The wiring harness is present. The turbines are gone though. So if you think you donate either in cash money or parts donation, we will be very willing to take it. I intend to label every part you donate with LabelMe stickers so that every part donated will be credited. Thank you for your support.

Yes, they do, they deal with modern cars. There was a Chevrolet Aveo in the garage too, the other day besides the R32 Skyline pictured above.

Try giving them a call, maybe they'd give you discount since you write for ZTH too.

yes he does, he's been living in New Zealand for a while now, so I'm sure his English comprehension is top notch.

Random Post Every 5 Minutes

hi to all,
i just got my Wira aeroback installed Tein S.TEC lower springs with GAB SA shocks (all are new unit). However, after installation, i found out my car's rear is higher than front (the car head is facing floor).

The difference is not very severe but can be seen quite easily on flat ground. Now my front wheel arc can put in 2 fingers, but rear can put in 4 fingers :banghead: the difference is about 3 cm.

So is this normal?? will it back to front-rear same height later?? or...
