i just got myself a kamak td06 18g, a minor upgrade over existing td05 16g,
what's the potential?

my mechanic told me more power as compared, while I can't find much info about kamak turbo.
I only know it's from Taiwan?
quite popular with modders.

compared to which one? and whats the damage for the price? new/used?:driver:

btw did a quick search on KAMAK, some site mention US product, some japan but this site looks promising : http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/kinugawa-turbo-review-207738.html?t=207738

Are yours same as above?

laggggggg...with not so much power increase...

why just u dont get the hybrid td05 20g directly? lesser lag than td06 with higher power potential if u decide to fully utilize it...

why lag?

when someone mentioned turbo lag, does it mean it will take higher rpm to spoof the turbo?

td05 20g cost me RM1.8k for a new one while this td06 18g, only rm600..
1/3 of the price.. haha

low budget, I don't even have the money for overhaul yet..

The larger the turbo, yes it is more powerful when fully spinning but initial start will have lag (take time to fully boost)

Love the 20g hahaha..btw what do you think of upgrading the conrod/arp screw and cometic metal gasket for high rev around 5k. Because i need that range to cruise on highway hahaha. Currently cruising at 4.5k @0 boost of course.. but i read at gsm/mitsu forum stock conrod not build for high rev durability.

TD05 require servicing, still ok. I can boost to 1 bar on stock.
you keen?

I was quoting RM1.3k to upgrade to 20G.
by chance, I come across this td06 18g so I decide to upgrade instead.

in your case..definately yes...

coz td04>td05>td06 (bigger exhaust housing)

so need more flow to spool...

yet the front compressor wheel is just 18g which is just slightly bigger than your current 16g...so power increase not much, yet you get more lag from it to spool (reaching fullboost from vaccum mode on acceleration)

if you went with td05-20g hybrid turbo, u will get same spool rate as stock td05 but with 20g power potential... (albeilt 20g wheel do have effect slightly later spool than stock td05-16g)

but i think good thing with your td06-18g, u can have highspeed cruising under vaccum mode (no boost)

If go TD-06, will need tune fuel feed to higher, right?

oh.. ought to ask you before I purchase.

I always thought bigger the turbo housing, the better it is..
anyway I not into high speed, I like sudden run..
hence, td05 16g may really suits me better..

no choice.. bought already..

please take a look, is this a double fin?
the previous owner uses it on his Subaru.

yes double fin definately....

i knew why he sold it from his scooby... coz lag... :listen:

btw...compared to scooby and evo, same turbo unit, evo have lesser lag and better driveability.... try install that first and see if u like it....

if it was me, i will definately hates it...if it was me btw....
