the especially the door..........it is so plastic.....basically the whole door is plastic...
the quality is reli not so gd...
plus..the muffler sound...is so damn loud..imagine u in highway speeding.....gona take panadol 4 it
if the interior quality is good...well...i guess this is the 1st choice 2 buying a car...
but too bad..
i sit at my fren 7month old lmst......everything loose edi.....the door keep on produce ochestra sound....i cant imagine how the car survive after 5 years my fren finish paying instalment..
no offence to all lmst driver...jus gime my oppinion...dun flame me o ;)
but..u get wat u paid lor.....it is cheaper than a kelisa anyway....

if u can find 1.5 iswara taxi spec.....better go 4 it!...i highly recommend it...
even d design is old..it wil b more realiable n more power than the new lmst!

well my dumb opinion
cheers

hi half life! agree with u that older sagas r more lasting than new versions...

siauann...do u refer to LMST? well...it does evolve from the Iswara, that's y however, interior design is ok but the quality not that promising... however, heard that the seats r comfortable <img src='style_emoticons/default/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle'

LMST? sigh...it sits on a twenty year old platform (from 1982 lancer fiore) and i hope this wud be the very last version of Saga.

from aesthetic point of view, LMST is the best looking Saga of all with modern look of one piece headlamp unit, and digital odometer. aircond controls are well designed.

Proton managed to cut cost and sell the car at a lower price but the handicapped is passed to consumer directly.
Saga is the only 1.3 car in Malaysia (and maybe in South East Asia) still using carburettor. other than kancil, everybody now has EFI.
Instead of using 3 piece dashboard, now its even worse with single piece dashboard, no glovebox and all hard plastic material. Noisy, noisy, noisy.
Door trimboards also are of 1 piece design.
LMST has no rear wiper (terrible for a hatchback).
Excessively noisy exhaust pipe. noisy noisy noisy.

But it is bigger than kancil and cheaper than kelisa. what would you do? throw dice laa..

LMST was cheaper than the LMSS and Saga Iswara 1.3AB it replaces. OTR about 32K compare to 33K for Iswara. LMSS new price was about 35K.

it was cheaper alright. but new price revision recently makes it more expensive and not a good value.

for Saga LMST NPS 35K
Saga LMST PS 38K

remember, you are paying 35k for cars that are technology wise, 2 decade old.
your money, your choice.

I'd rather top it up a little bit more for a seg or even a lantis

For every Saga or Iswara build, Proton makes money because the platform is already paid for.

Also, an internal source told me that all SE vehicles are recycled from the many units of Protons left to rot outside the factory under the hot sun. That is why you have lot of problems with anything related to plastic.

No matter if they can sell or not... Proton has to produced at least 5000 cars per month. Otherwise, many people will out of jobs.

For the asking price, it is cheap already.

As for the noisy exhaust... it is way above the JPJ limit. Instead, JPJ choose to fine other drivers with similar but quieter exhaust. Weird...

I own a saga lmst...driven for nearly 1 year...no problem at all..dirty my hand to fix up the noise and things in the beginning, and found out it's no big deal, simple problem...DIYed sound proofing...now my car is a lot quieter than most proton cars...it's a matter of choise...and the choice is yours... The interior is bloody cheap, the plastics look rough compare to previous Iswara. Why Proton still fits Iswara with carburetor? Probably orang kampung people cannot afford to repair/maintain EFI engine, carburetor is cheaper in this aspect. Or perhaps to encourage poor peole (who don't have money to buy Haltech) to try Weber :)
