Just get my car 2 days ago, first day I went to bhp and pump in RON95 petrol rm40.
And until today no crazy driving normal city drive night go out minum teh, but what is frightening me is my fuel gauge is almost to empty (1-2 small gauge left) and the car only travelled for 110+ km only. What might be the problem? Is it haven't service the car yet?

is it a new car? new car's engine requires a run-in period, in which the fuel consumption can be high. This should settle after 1000kms, but sometimes it continues this way until 5000kms. Also to be noted is your car is driven around town, which you would start-stop very often, this contributes to the high consumption as well.

Lastly, did you leave your car ignition turned on while not moving? Let's say you just park aside, waiting for someone and your engine is not turned off?

My first tank of fuel for my brand new Mazda2 lasted for about 300kms. After 3100kms now, my average fuel consumption is 12 to 13km/liter. But hey, I look after my car very well, it had a very good run-in and I only feed it with Shell V-Power (RON98, I'm based in Australia)

Cheers.

FYI, official claim is 14.7km/liter, considering all my mileage is done in city/town, I reckon it's not bad.

Regards.

what's your FC on your swift today? I got my suzuki swift in Feb 2011 and I'm getting about 10.9 km/L. For every RM60 of Ron97, I get to 260 km and I'm slowly getting more mileage. But what I do notice is that I need to drive hard once in a while, in order to get better mileage out of it. I actually tested driving politely and driving hard. Driving politely, the mileage I get increases very slowly. Driving hard, my mileage increases rather quickly. This is what I experience. I started with RM60, 200 km. Now, it's RM60, 260 km.
