I dunno. Personal opinion is going from 205/45/16 JRD rims to 195/55/15 Advanti lightweight rims made it easier to accelerate and stop. Even though now my speedo is inaccurate plus minus 10 km/h, it was worth the swap.

Advanti Storm series superlightweight 4.6kg rim. The Japan Enkei ones I saw were even lighter.

Reducing unsprung weight will make a difference regardless of car. Just a matter of how much difference. For a big SUV, it's probably not do much, but for a small 1.5 like mine it made a helluva difference.

I read some comments in this post before , saying that having a too light rim may cause unstable in corning . For the Gen2 case I think shud be ok right since the Gen2 is freakin heavy.

did anyone go and timbang those lightweight rim and see their difference?

I mean..whats the weight between SSR type C, Regamaster, CE28, Enkei RPF?

Does lighter rim means more easy to bent as the steel is not as thick as heavy rim?

Unstable cornering for lightweight rims? That's the first time I've heard this. Unless the rim itself is flexing which means it's a crappy rim? Or the tyre profile is too high so a lot of tyre flex? (Meaning you need a hard sidewall tyre or lower profile tyres)

My recommendation is go rim shopping in Rawang or Klang. They have pretty good prices.

I doubt they are easily bent if reputable. JRD for example are pretty soft, even for their super heavy standard rims. Their alloy rims look good and are pretty light but I don't trust the brand already after having so many dents and stuff from the different rims I've tried. But that's just a personal opinion.

Those branded rims probably use some forged steel or something which makes the rim strong and light. But why need to weigh the different lightweight rims? My Advanti is 4.6kg each, say the Enkei RPF is 4kg.. is the 0.6kg going to make a difference? Probably not unless you're going for a race where every single gram counts la. Magnesium rims are expensive and freaking light but are easily dented. Forged rims I don't think you'll have problems with potholes. Any rim going up a curb or getting into an accident is going to break regardless.

Light is not equal to weak. Is depend on technology and material.
Btw, too light weight sport rim will not match well in light weight car when apply in high speed.
U will feel bumpy especially at rear wheel.
My Satria with Mivec had been plug in Regamaster (3.88kg), is totally out from my expectation.

The ideal light weight rim should be around 4.5kg to 5.8kg.:driver:

Let's trade! My "heavier" 4.6kg Advanti Storm rims for your Regamaster 3.8kg rims!

I personally don't care about top speed since I only go max 120km/h most of the time.

when you say high speed...how fast you mean?
Will steering float/not steady when you drive like 150km/h due to the lightweight or wheels?

Come..cheap cheap sell to me...i will be more than willing to take over those wheels from you. hehe..
