The VIM+CPS is nothing new at all. Infact this system has been in use on the 92 DC2 GSR. Imagine this has been in use since 15 years ago and now proton wants to implement this.

Up to now we have been hearing VIM+CPS hype but still no sign of it. The Campro engine has been on the roads since 2001. Many cars out there boldly have Campro out there but essentially it is nothing more than a DOHC VVT engine.

I may sound abit harsh and I do not mean to flame at all if I did offend anybody here. But I'll believe it when I see it.

Why dont those Proton guys just sell their tax payer subsidising, money losing, ego bloated poor excuse of a company?

Dont they realize majority of Malaysians do not want to buy Protons?

Since I thought it din have the CPS+VIM I thought at least it would have vvt. But looking into this further, indeed this engine is nothing more than a basic DOHC setup. Thanks for reminding me.

Do you know when it debut? I recall on top of my head it was 2001 or something but I do stand corrected.

bigV, yea... from the engine name, is indicating CamPro.. (Cam Profiling)..

BUT (a big BUT), the reality of the engine when it is dunk in to Gen2 is it is
just a basic 1.6 DOHC engine. no cam profiling intake/exhaust valve lift whatsoever...

That's why i reckon at least it would have vvt or some sort. where got ppl put a basic dohc engine with no vvt these days? but apparently proton did. Kinda reminds of the ZC. man that engine is even older

plus summore when I heard they want to do CPS+VIM, I was thinking "man this is the stuff for high specific output" but sadly no. I read from proton's site it said 127hp. a SOHC d15b vtec is 130ps bone stock.

this technique has been around since the 92dc2 GSR around 15 yrs ago. Till now not yet got CPS+VIM. I read from other forums that it supposed be out early last month but still no sign. I'm starting to doubt whether it even existed or not.
