In actuality, it isn't too difficult to do that legally. My best suggestion is to find a reliable builder to build and transplant a 2JZ as it has been proven to be the most reliable in the Mark X. If in doubt, please search the inter webs for the Kunnyz full Mark X build details and you'll see for yourself. Hope you find this useful.

Wouldn't it be easier to engine swap to the 3.0ltr Mark X engine instead, or the supercharged version?

Then i'll pose a quick pondering point. Do you want an engine thats EXTREMELY hard to find and wont have Replacement or modification parts for, or something that is easier to work with and have many parts readily available? The 2JZ IMHO, has alot more potential for power with a very very decent twin turbo system and is much easier to work with. The v6 platform on the mark x is a much more difficult engine to work with. My opinion is based on the fact that i do all of my own basic servicing and parts replacement. For example, changing your spark plugs on the standard 4GR-FSE makes changing plugs on the subaru boxer engines look like a walk in the park.

Yeah very true, the Supra engine has potential to give a lot more power, a lot more parts/options available, and should be easier to maintain.
