they said in paper edi b4, if they dont hav mykad reader, its not a reason for them to let us go easily, many other things can charge ma.. like bh said, haha..

Actually, I think there's advantages and disadvantages about loading in your driving license into the mykad.

advantage
- Less cards to carry
- When entering certain areas like condo, apartment, etc. you need not surrender your mykad if security asks for it. I read somewhere that there is a law that states that we do not need to surrender our IC but if the security insists on it, we can file a police report against him.

disadvantage
- If you lose your mykad, it'll be kinda troublesome to get a new one.

Yet again, I encourage y'all to download the Red Book and know your rights, at least to a certain extent.

Traffic cops can’t summon those who show MyKad

TRAFFIC policemen cannot issue summonses to motorists who show their MyKad instead of their driving licences, Bukit Aman traffic chief Datuk Hamza Mat Taib said.

He added that he had taken his men to task several times for issuing summonses to drivers who submitted their MyKad for verification when the officers themselves were not equipped with MyKad electronic readers.

“All information is available in the MyKad.

“If the police officer is not equipped with a MyKad reader, then they don't have to issue summonses to motorists (for not producing the driving licence),” he told Berita Minggu.

Hamza said 60% of the 4,500 traffic police officers had been equipped with the MyKad reader so far.
