Tired with the typical auto shows that are happening around you? Then make a way for the 23-24 of June as the Art of Speed, Malaysia’s first ever “Kustom Kulture” and hot rod show will be rocking on at Publika’s The Square and White Box, with “custom” as the main word for the event.

The Art of Speed will be organized by the guys at Switchblade, a rockabilly boutique/diner down at Publika, Solaris Dutamas. “We have been planning this show since the past one year. It should be able to entice various crowds that are into hot rods, body tattoo, fixed gear bicycles and photography. We are also inviting airbrush artists to display their work,” said the MD of Switchblade, Asep Ahmad Sastrawidjaja.

<a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/DSC_0121b10.jpg"><img title="DSC_0121b10" src="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/DSC_0121b10.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="420" /></a>

The Art of Speed was inspired by the famous Mooneyes Yokohama Hot Rod &amp; Custom Show, where it had just celebrated its 20th anniversary. This event will also be seeing participations pouring in from all directions, which include the KickAss Choppers from Jakarta and Thor Chops and Kustoms from Bangkok, all to make this event a huge success.

<a href="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/DSC_0134b12.jpg"><img title="DSC_0134b12" src="http://www.zerotohundred.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/DSC_0134b12.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="397" /></a>

And the main highlight of this first ever event is*the Midnight Cruise, where a parade of customized choppers and hot rods will be riding around the streets of KL, with the escort of the traffic police of course. 50 customized machines ranging from American muscle cars to Japanese old school rides are expected to be in the event, which also includes their 2-wheeled friends on hot rods and choppers.

Ya...thank goodness. A 'Real' autoshow minus those Cartoon Themed, Overly Lit, Fluorecent painted, 101 Dalmation Themed Interior Waja/wiras and Kancils normally 'exhibited'.:banghead:

I'm not a fan of events that is purely for exhibition. With our antiquated JPJ laws and prohibitive taxes on cars, we can never really enjoy modifying our cars in Malaysia. (unless you're rich, then what I have just written will not apply to you :P)
