I have never heard of that inspection rule either.

What I do know is that it is no longer a mere sumonnable offence if you are caught driving with an expired road tax.

Previously, if you are caught, you get the option of just paying the fine, or, you challenge the summons by appearing in Court.

Now you no longer get the option of just paying the fine. You actually have to present yourself in Court before a Magistrate, pay your fine, and possibly get demerited. A colleague just went through the experience. They are now taking it very seriously because they consider anyone with an expired road tax to be without proper insurance coverage.

So get your road tax renewed a.s.a.p. As far as I know, there is no time-limit inspection rule.

if im not wrong, the grace period is 1 week after the expired date. If your roadtax expiry date is 4th Jan, u can delay it til latest 11th Jan....which is oredi over. gud luck brader if u have not renew it.

Most of the replies are right i think...

You have ONE year to do so,

After one year, you need to send for car inspection...

To check for its road worthiness because there car was not being used for one year...

But hell knows....

No roadtax our typical Malaysians also whack like mad everyday like nobody business...

Kena caught....

Then only use the ...

MALAYSIA BOLEH way of settlement to the problem...:burnout::burnout:

Not much to be worried about, just make it a habit to renew maybe few days before roadtax expired or earlier will do.
Won't get in trouble or forgetting to renew. 1 Week before is better...
