What I do is usually just remember where I came up from (which lift or escalator), then roughly remember the route I walk from my car and that's it!

Nothing is weird, it's just how different people have different ways of remembering. Just like some people who can store single plan in their own memory while some people would need to write down on an organizer/planner (even for the smallest thing).

I didn't find it wierd, its kinda smart though. Never done it before as i can always remember the place i parked my car. But should've start practicing this method in case my memories gone bad.
